Redefining "student" instruments - meet the new JP/Rath trombone
Yes, we've finally gone ahead and created a new student trombone.

The UK firm John Packer, who are very well known for their excellent range of student instruments asked us to put our design and manufacturing expertise into a new student trombone that would set new standards both in terms of playability and quality.
The result is the new JP231/Rath trombone, which is already getting fantastic reviews. Take a look at the Trombone Forum for some thoughts on the new Rath student trombone from players who tried it at the recent ITF.
Of course, this isn't just a student trombone - Carol Jarvis has just finished touring with Seal using the new Rath student model, where the horn section have been proving that "student" instruments aren't just for students!
One of the key features that we wanted to have are the highest possible manufacturing standards - in fact, just as high as we have with our other trombones.
Mick is working with the technicians, training them with the same techniques as
we use in our workshop, to the same standards. This isn't just a one-off event either, our involvement is on an ongoing basis. There aren't any shortcuts with the materials that are used in the trombone either. Everything is checked at every stage along the line to make sure that Mick's confident to put his own name on it!
Putting together this high level of design, manufacturing, quality control and consistency is something that's not been done before and the results speak for themselves.
The new Rath student trombone is going to be available from us starting in September, retailing at just £355 inc. vat
