Tuning slides
Our tuning slides are available in four different materials - yellow, gold and red brass, and nickel silver. They all have a dual radius design, which are a better compliment to our trombones than single radius tuning slides.

Yellow brass and nickel silver tuning slides allow for clearer articulations with fewer overtones than gold or red brass and can feel slightly more open, whilst gold and red brass tuning slide are generally a better compliment to yellow brass bell flares.
All Rath tuning slides can be customised in terms of the balance weight. For Bb tenor trombones this is fitted as standard, whilst tuning slides for Bb/F tenor trombones and bass trombones are usually supplied without a counterweight. However these instruments can be ordered with fixed balance weights if required.
All Rath weights are fitted with screw threads so that a player can adjust these to their specific requirements. For players requiring additional weight, a detachable weight and individual weights are also available. Players may also find that adding weight to the bell section improves the focus, centre and projection of the instrument.
