Kevin Cerovich from the Airmen of Note

Kevin Cerovich is a Latin Grammy nominated trombonist originally from Kansas City, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Trombone from the University of Missouri Kansas City. There, while studying with Bobby Watson and Paul McKee, he won numerous awards including the 2007 International Trombone Association’s JJ Johnson Jazz Competition and the Eastern Trombone Workshop’s Solo Jazz Competition. Before leaving Kansas City, Cerovich released his highly reviewed debut album, “The Last Spring” featuring his quartet playing all original compositions.

Cerovich moved to New York City in 2008 to further his music career and was quickly hired by jazz piano icon Eric Lewis with whom he toured internationally and recorded on the 2009 Sony Pictures soundtrack, “Dark Country.” He then recorded and toured for several years with French music legend Charlelie Couture in Europe and Canada. Since 2013, Cerovich has played jazz trombone with the famed Airmen of Note, The United States Air Force Band, Washington, D.C. Before joining the Air Force, Cerovich was a member of the Charlie Persip Big Band and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem All Stars. His work with Andres Salguero was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2015. Cerovich has also performed with the Michael Dease Big Band, Jay McShann, Elliot Mason, and Kevin Mahogany among others.”
